#1 McCully led 3 to 0 early, then watched as #6 Ewa scored 7 unanswered runs but rallied back from that four-run deficit and got a walk-off base hit from Bryce Marcouillier in the bottom of the 9th inning to score Colby Ho and defeat Ewa 9-8 on Monday night (2/25) at Hans L’Orange Field.
Ho singled hard to left to start the bottom of the 9th inning. Ridge Carpenter executed a slash bunt single to move Ho to 2nd base. After missing his attempt to sacrifice bunt and move the runners over, Marcouillier singled to deep right over the head of Ewa rightfielder Jonny Sakurai to end the 3 1/2 hour marathon.
Travis McGaughy battled to pitch a gutsy complete game for Ewa.
