In the 2nd play-in game of the day and Oahu AJA Baseball League Championship Tournament, Waialae rallied from behind 5 times to finally defeat Mililani 8 to 7 in 11 innings on a no out sacrifice push bunt by David Chu past the hard charging 1st & 2nd basemen in the bottom of the 11th innings to drive in Tyler Nitahara, who had doubled earlier in the inning, with the winning run. Mililani scored go ahead runs in the 9th & 10th innings but watched as Waialae came back to score tying runs in the 9th & 10th innings and finally win the game in the 11th inning. Both Mililani & Waialae got out of several bases loaded no outs situations without giving up any runs in this tension filled hard fought gritty game.
Waialae advances to play McCully in the Tournament. Mililani, led by newcomer manager Chad “Moonie” Uyehara, were playing in a Tournament game for the 2nd straight year.
