Pearl City 9 – 6 Sheridan 03/04/14 Tues @Hans

Pearl City defeated Sheridan 9 to 6 in the last game of the season to send Sheridan to 7th place and out of the playoffs.  Pearl City jumped ahead early, scoring 9 runs on 6 Sheridan errors, then held on to win as Sheridan’s 9th inning rally fell short.  Pearl City pitcher Justin Pate came in with 2 outs in the 9th inning to earn the save, stranding the tying run on 1st base as the last out was made on a groundout with all runners going on a 3-2 pitch.

With the victory, Pearl City ties Waialae for 3rd place but earns the #3 seed in the playoffs by virtue of winning the head-to-head competition (1 victory and 1 tie) against Waialae.  Ewa finishes in 6th place and will play Pearl City (#3 seed) in the playoffs.
