Waialae 3 – 2 Sheridan 01/09/14 (Thurs) @CORP

Waialae rallied in the 8th inning to defeat Sheridan 3 to 2 in a pitcher’s duel @ chilly CORP.  Waialae opened the bottom of the 8th with 3 straight hits to score the eventual winning run by centerfielder Mark Okano on a single to right by shortstop Kevin Higa.  Both teams squandered several earlier scoring opportunities with Sheridan leaving 9 runners on base and Waialae having two consecutive base runners caught stealing 2nd in one inning after walks.  Waialae pitchers Booth Kiyota and Riley Maeda held Sheridan to 2 runs despite walking 8 batters.  Sheridan pitcher Royce Komesu left the game early after being struck on the leg by a basehit line drive by Drayson Ito.
