Waipahu pitcher Kale Kaalekahi used his 92 miles per hour fastball to strikeout 13 Waialae batters in his complete game win Wednesday (3/4/15) night at Central Oahu Regional Park. Kaalekahi finished the game with a flourish, getting 13 of the last 14 Waialale batters out, including striking out the last 3 batters in the 9th inning. Waipahu 2nd baseman Tyler Hanzawa had 2 hits and 4 RBI including a bases loaded clearing single to help rally Waipahu. Shortstop Chevas Numata had 3 hits with 2 doubles, including one double high off the left field fence to lead Waipahu. Waialae’s Randy Castillo pitched a gritty game, stranding 12 Waipahu baserunners in 6+ innings, while keeping Waialae in the game.
Waipahu advances to the Championship game on Sunday (3/8/15) 1pm @Hans L’Orange. Waialae plays on Sunday (3/8/15) 10am @Hans L’Orange against the winner of tomorrow night’s game featuring Pearl City & McCully 7pm @ Central Oahu Regional Park.
