Last night, Waialae regained a share of first place with a 7-1 victory over Ewa at Ala Wai Field. Kaneohe missed out on a golden opportunity to gain a share of 5th place with Sheridan and Mililani rose to the occasion with a 8-0 shut out victory.
We are entering the second to the last week of the regular season and we have just 16 games remaining and everyone still has a mathematical shot at the playoffs. Here’s a synopsis for each team:
Ewa – Has two games this week against Mililani and Waipahu, currently tied with Kaneohe for 6th and final playoff spot.
Kaneohe – Just one game this week against Sheridan and a potential opportunity to climb up to 5th place with a victory.
Manoa – Plays its final two games of the season this week against Sheridan and McCully and needs to win both and receive help to stay in the playoff chase.
McCully – A showdown with Pearl City on Sunday highlights the week’s schedule. Also has a game against Manoa and two wins would help solidify first place in the standings.
Mililani – Coming off a big win yesterday, takes on Ewa Sunday with a chance to stay in the playoff chase with help.
Pearl City – Two games against co-#1 teams Waialae and McCully makes this a big week for Pearl City and an opportunity to secure the #1 seed.
Sheridan – Looking to erase a four-game winning streak and secure a #5 seed with games against Manoa and Kaneohe.
Waialae – Finishes the season with four games in eight days against Waipahu, Pearl City and McCully (doubleheader next Sunday).
Waipahu – Four points behind the 3 top teams who all play each other. Has an opportunity to sneak up with games against Waialae and Ewa.
