PLAYOFF: Pearl City 4 – 3 McCully 03/13/14 (Thurs) @CORP

Pearl City pitcher Chris Loo held hard hitting McCully to 4 hits and 0 runs after the 1st inning to earn the win 4 to 3.  Justin Pate got the save by getting the final two outs with the tying run on 2nd base in the bottom of the 9th inning.  Pearl City scored 2 runs to open the game but watched as McCully scored 3 in the bottom of the 1st to take the lead.  Pearl City rallied to score 2 runs in the 3rd to take the lead which remained the difference.  Pearl City got 14 basehits, all singles and stranded 10 runners on base.  The game featured fine defensive plays with Pearl City 2nd baseman Adam Tamashiro making a diving backhand catch to rob Bryce Marcoullier of a base hit to open the 8th inning and McCully rightfielder Jared Seminara diving along the rightfield line to rob Chad Quillopo in the bottom of the 8th inning.
Pearl City moves on in the Oahu AJA Baseball Championship Tournament to play Waipahu on Friday night (3/14) 7pm @CORP in the Winner vs Winner game.  McCully drops into the Loser bracket and will play Waialae in a Loser out game on Sunday (3/16) 10am @Hans L’Orange.
