Playoff Update from League Manager

Here are the results from Wednesday’s games:

Waialae 12 Manoa 11

Pearl City 12 Ewa 6

 

Playoff Implications:

Waialae is now in sole possession of 2nd place.

Manoa has been eliminated from playoff contention.

Pearl City remains in 4th place but just 1 point behind McCully.

Ewa failed to clinch a spot in the playoffs and must wait till Sunday’s game between Sheridan and Pearl City.

Mililani has clinched the #5 seed in the playoffs.

Playoff Implications, last 4 games:

Ewa – Sheridan loss will clinch final spot in playoffs.

Kaneohe – Eliminated from playoff contention.

Manoa – Eliminated from playoff contention.

McCully – Win to clinch 2nd seed in playoffs.

Mililani – Clinched 5th seed in playoffs.

Pearl City – Win and McCully loss clinches 2nd seed in playoffs.

Sheridan – Win to clinch 6th and final seed in playoffs.

Waialae – McCully loss or tie and Pearl City loss will clinch 2nd seed in playoffs.

Waipahu – Clinched 1st seed in playoffs.

 

Wow.  The 6th seed into the Playoffs will not be determined until the 2nd to last game of our 72 game regular season.  The 2nd seed may also be determined by the same game, dependent upon the 70th game (McCully vs Manoa) of the regular season.  The 2nd seed draws a bye from the Playoffs and moves directly into the double elimination Championship Tournament.

 

We are also adjusting the playoff schedule to not play night games at CORP due to the lighting situation and also because playoffs have no time limit.  Playoff schedule is as follows:

Game 1: 7 p.m. Hans:  #4 seed vs. #5 Mililani (Loser Eliminated)

 

Tuesday, 3/4

Game 2: 7 p.m. Hans: #3 seed vs. #6 seed (Loser Eliminated)

Friday, 3/7

The Champion will represent Oahu and compete against the Kauai, Maui and Big Island champions to determine the Hawaii State AJA Baseball Champion in the Hawaii State AJA Baseball Championship Tournament, held this year on Kauai, April 5 and 6.
